Fantastic Finish
During Year 1s Fantastic Finish we created 3D models of pumpkins, salt dough bats and ghosts, as well as skeleton pictures created with Q-tips, bubble cauldron and painted an apple orange to make a pumpkin.
In year 2 for a Fantastic Finish on Monday, we made Eton mess and decorated biscuits using cream, fruit and sprinkles. Parents/carers and children enjoyed creating thes.
Year 3 had their Fantastic Finish on Wednesday, took part in an activity with children. We read a story about a hedgehog and its hibernation. The afternoon consisted of parents and children going out to collect leaves, bringing them back and creating their own Hattie the Hedgehog from the story. The children really enjoyed and thank you to all those who came and took part in the session.
In year 4 for Fantastic Finish on Wednesday we On the 16th of October, we celebrated ‘Fantastic Finish’ with an engaging art activity based on our geography lessons on reading grids. The children were given the opportunity to explore their creativity by selecting two distinct pieces of art, which they recreated by drawing according to the specific grid provided. It was truly heartening to witness the collaboration amongst the children as they supported one another brilliantly throughout the process. Many parents attended to cheer on their young artists, adding to the warm atmosphere. Both children and parents thoroughly enjoyed the experience, making it a memorable day for all involved.
Year 5 had their Fantastic Finish on Monday, we linked our activity to our History topic, The Romans. We created a mosaic of a Roman soldier’s head using tissue paper and a lot of patience. However, the end results looked amazing.
On Tuesday year 6 Fantastic Finish was lovely to see such a wonderful turn out.. The children have been learning about WW2 in History and in English they have been reading Michael Murpurgo’s book ‘Friend or Foe’ which is set during WW2. During the session parents and children got arty, creating a scene from The Blitz. They used watercolours to paint the night sky and then used silhouettes of buildings to add the London skyline. They created some amazing pieces of artwork. Well done to everyone involved and a big thank you to everyone who attended.
Lovely to see many parents/carers who were able to attend Fantastic Finish this week. A fantastic finish is an opportunity for you to join your child in their class to work together. To be part of a creative challenge, an investigative challenge, a problem to solve or something else closely related to what your child is learning about in their classroom topic.
