Year 6 Curriculum
In Year 6 at Parkside, children cover a broad range of subjects designed to provide a well-rounded education.
In English, the focus includes developing advanced reading comprehension skills, honing writing techniques across various genres, and expanding vocabulary.
In mathematics, children learn to become fluent in number and delve into reasoning problems to encourage their application of learnt topics.
Science explores concepts like evolution, electricity, and the processes in the body, fostering scientific inquiry and experimentation.
In history, pupils delve into significant periods, like WWII, fostering a deeper understanding of the past.
Geography explores global issues, mapping skills, and environmental awareness.
