Congratulations to Year 4 Rowan for winning the Attendance Award this week.
All the children had lots of fun coming to school in their own clothes – keep up the great attendance Year 5!
Year 1 shared their brilliant facts about ladybirds, linked the book ‘What the Ladybird heard’. Year 2 explained that they had been answering some very tricky questions about the Great Fire of London. Year 3 shared some incredible information they had researched about volcanoes. Year 4 have started reading the book, The Iron Man and the children shared a description they had written about the main character. Year 5 had a very interesting start to the week as they investigated a crime that occured. During our assembly, the children shared their incident report they had written about it. Finally, Year 6 showed us their pitch films they created when they recently visited Sky Studios. We definitely have some budding thespians in our midst!
Keep up the great work!
YELLOW TEAM!!
The children had lots of fun taking part in a whole host of activities – whether this be jumping over hurdles, Quidditch, an obstacle course, buggy racing or basketball – they showed great enthusiasm and determination to try their best.
Both our EYFS and the rest of the school’s Sports Day culminated in all the children participating in exciting races – bringing the whole school together in the spirit of fun and teamwork!
Thank you to all of our dedicated staff, supportive parents and carers for making this such an enjoyable day for all the children!
From the moment we stepped through the doors, the excitement was palpable. The day began with an inspiring session introducing the many different careers within the TV and film industry. The possibilities seemed endless! It wasn’t long before imaginations ran wild—many children were already dreaming of becoming actors, directors, or set designers.
Next came a guided tour of the studios, and it didn’t disappoint. A definite highlight was seeing the original jeep from the first Jurassic Park film, a true piece of movie history. We also had the chance to test out the soundproofing in Sound Stage 5—a massive 20,000 square foot space, tall enough to fit three double-decker buses stacked on top of each other! Despite our loudest screams, the space barely echoed!
The grand finale of the day was when the children took on the roles of directors, camera operators, sound engineers, editors, and actors to produce their very own original scripts. The level of creativity and confidence on display was astounding—Hollywood, watch out! Parkside’s next generation of stars are on the rise.
A huge thank you to Chloe, Hadeed, and the entire #SkyUp team for providing us with such an inspiring and unforgettable experience. We learned so much, and most importantly, we had an absolute blast!
The children prepared and delivered an assembly to Year 3 and 4 about everything they had learned throughout the sessions with Herts Constabulary. This included anti-social behaviour, internet safety, bullying in all forms and road safety.
Year 5 delivered their assembly with confidence – it included some role play, humour and lots of audience participation. We are very proud of you Year 5 – well done!
They needed to use their detective skills and aim to analyse the clues to try and solve the mystery of who or what had caused the disruption in the classroom. The children have their theories but the mystery has yet to be solved!
Whether you need a little extra help now and then or just want to ease the weekly food shop, please know this service is here for you—no questions asked, no referrals needed. Everyone is welcome!
They explored the sights of Parliament Square, taking in some of the capital’s most iconic landmarks. A visit to the Imperial War Museum was a real highlight, where the children had the fantastic opportunity to attend a special talk about fighter jets and World War I.
Your behaviour and representation for our school was brilliant and we are proud of you all. A massive thank you to our staff and guides who helped make this day so special.
