On Monday, 6 Oak and 6 Cherry went on a visit to Whipsnade Zoo as part of their future Scientific learning of Evolution. During the day the children got a chance to walk around and see a variety of different animals whilst taking part in an educational workshop called Habitats and Adaptation. In Habitats and Adaptations the children got a chance to explore how animals are perfectly suited to living in their environments. Through hands-on activities, they explored the adaptations of different species and discovered how closely-related species differ due to the habitat they’ve evolved to live in. The children also started to consider variation and inheritance in order to understand how these adaptations occur over many generations.
Below are some of the photos taken from our day out.
