Year 6 18.5.20

Good Morning Year 6, hope you had a lovely weekend.

Let us kick off this week with another assembly. This week’s assembly is all about Discovery. The Oak academy had an interview with the first British astronaut, Helen Sharman, she’s talking about her experience of a lifetime when she visited the Mir Space Station.

Assembly: Discovery

Maths:  Coordinates and shapes: To recognise 3-D shapes – In today’s lesson, you will revise the names of the parts of 2-D and 3-D shapes, name 3-D and identify 2-D faces of 3-D shapes. Good Luck.

Quick fire question: Last week on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire there was this question and it was for £8000: What do you think the correct answer is? Can you prove it to me?

Literacy: Diary Entry lesson 1: reading focus – In this lesson, we will be looking at key language

Reading: We are going to continue reading about Sigmund Cliffer, currently we are on chapter 6.

  1. Read Chapter 6
  2. Answer Multiple choice questions online
  3. Helping others task – Sigi managed to help people even when he had very little himself. Write about a time when you have helped someone.

PE: A quick dance to remind you all of our time at PGL – a slightly different version but hopefully you’ll remember the song. Send in any videos 🙂 can just be a quick snippet of you doing the dance.

ICT: On Purple Mash they are running a games design competition, so bellow I have attached the instructions and what they are looking for. I will give you a week to get started and hopefully I’ll be able to send in some of your entries.  You can submit your work by putting it to the Display Board for the category they are entering.

*** You can save and edit your work as often as you like before submitting – it should only be submitted once it is completely finished.
The Display Boards will be visible to the public, so it’s important not to include personal information in your entries. Don’t use names or other personal information as part of the designs. Any submissions that include personal information won’t be accepted or displayed on the board. The only information visible on the board will be the school name.

Have fun and we look forward to seeing your work later.
