Group 2 and 3:

You are focusing on words that have -ous as a suffix: courageous, mountainous, spacious, dangerous, various, famous, glorious, furious, envious, poisonous, mountainous

Maths:

Task 1: How many of these word problems can you solve? Mon maths challenge

Task 2: You are going to continue to learn about decimal numbers this week.   White Rose Maths has put together a great home learning pack on this which can be accessed through this link:

https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-5/

We would like you to complete lesson 1 for Summer Term Week 2 – adding decimals with the same number of decimal places . Watch the clip about this learning then answer the questions in the activity section. The answers are also available so you can check your work once you have completed it – no peeking before you have completed the questions!

Reading:

You are going to finish reading ‘How to catch a beast’ and today, we would like you to read chapter 5 and complete the multiple choice quiz afterwards.

Remember to look at the underlined words as you read the text. These are words you may be unfamiliar with and if you hover over the word, it will tell you its meaning.

English:

Task 1: How many words can you find in the word wheel? Remember, each word you make must include the central letter! Mon word wheel

Task 2: Having read all of the book ‘How to Catch a Beast’, we would like you to write a review about it. What did you like best about the story? Who was your favourite character and why? Is there anything you would change about the story? We have set this as a 2Do on Purple Mash for you.

PSHE:

Can you find examples of things that make you feel happy each day? Complete the attached journal to keep a record of this. You can send a page of the journal to us each day or the complete journal at the end of the week.
