Good morning Year 5.

Well done those of you who are completing the set activities that we assign to you each day!

Remember to log in to Mathletics, Purple Mash and Times Tables Rock Stars to complete your set activities, you will find different activities assigned to you every day that are due at the end of that same day or week.

Here are some activities for you to complete at home today:

Spellings:

Group1:

blue, glue, clue, true, flute, tune, use, excuse

Group 2 and 3:

possible, grammar, opposite, through, ordinary, particular, possession, separate, special, remember, different, believe.

Use this sheet to practise your spellings words – can you write them all backwards to help you remember the order of the letters?

Spelling backwards

English:

Task 1: read and answer the questions about the image called Toby’.  This is similar to our morning work that we do!

Task 2: there is a story starter for you on the sheet, continue the story. Make sure you include what we have been focusing on in class – expanded noun phrases, fronted adverbials (don’t forget the comma!) and a variety of connectives to link your paragraphs together.

Maths:

Choose either a 2,3 or 4 digit numbers and complete one of the sheets – think about all the different ways you can represent this number!

You are going to be learning about decimals, fractions and percentages this week.   White Rose Maths has put together a great home learning pack on this which can be accessed through this link:
