Good morning Year 5!
This is not the way we intended to begin the Spring term, but we hope you and your family are well and safe.
Everyday we will post a variety of activities that we would like your child to complete over the day. Each day there will be Maths, English, Spelling and Reading to complete as well a topic lesson and something fun to finish the day!
Please keep in touch with us via the emails below. Send through any work that your child has completed, either typed or a photo, as well as any questions or support you may need.
We will have access to our emails throughout the typical school day.
Remember to keep yourself active throughout the day and take some well-deserved brain breaks!

Then have a go at answering these questions.
We have set you a book to read on Purple Mash as a 2Do.
We are going to read a chapter each day and complete some learning about it afterwards.
Our book this week is called ‘The Great Marvello’ and today, we would like you to read Chapter 1 and complete the multiple choice quiz afterwards.
Remember to look at the underlined words as you read the text. These are words you may be unfamiliar with and if you hover over the word, it will tell you its meaning.
Make sure you are completing your reading record everyday – we will check this when we’re back in school!
We should have been starting a new next this term and the book is called ‘Journey’ by Aaron Becker.
Today, we would like you to look at the front cover and make some predictions about what you think may happen. We are going to use the same grid as we did for Flotsam and Wolves in the Walls. There is further explanation on this word document. You can complete the task on the document or print it out and send us a photo of the completed work. It is also been set as a 2Do on Purple Mash, if you wish to complete it online.
Our History topic this term is called James I and the Gunpowder Plot.
Read this introductory power point and complete the task. You can complete the task by printing out the word document or have a go at drawing the flag yourself!
How many of these challenges can you complete today? We look forward to finding out!
