Good morning everyone,
We hope you are having a great week of learning!
Please remember to keep in touch with us using our emails below:
We love seeing all of your fantastic work!
Look after yourself and have a lovely day!
See below for the tasks we would like your child to complete today:
Home Learning for Friday 26th June 2020:
Complete the Maths challenges that have been attached below. The most suitable for Year 4 are 1-5 but maybe try the rest with your family!
The answers will also be attached and a certificate that you could use to show how many you got right (either on your own or with your family).
Remember to email your completed work to your teacher.
Have a go at these fraction games:
Or maybe try these times table games:
Practice your times-tables speed with the 2do set on Purple Mash.
This week we are going to focus on writing a setting description. The fifth lesson will be to write a setting description using all the things that you have learnt this week.. You will need to follow the link to complete the lesson – https://classroom.thenational.academy/lessons/to-use-key-features-in-order-to-write-own-composition
Throughout the lesson you will need to complete the following tasks:
- A prior knowledge quiz
- Watch a video
- Read through a slide show
- Write your own setting description using the prompts and examples in the slide show
All these tasks can be found by using the link above.
Reread Chapter 4 of A Sheep Dip to India which is available to read on Purple Mash.
Write a short story about a magic potion. Describe the weird and wonderful ingredients used to make the potion. What happens when it is used? Is it a potion that is helpful or does it cause chaos and trouble? This has been set as a 2do on Purple Mash.
Remember to read your own book everyday (reading helps us develop fantastic language for our own writing!)
These are going to be your spelling words to learn this week:
Famous, porous, nervous, adventurous, ridiculous, courageous, carnivorous, outrageous, herbivorous, advantageous
NB: On Friday, test your child on how they have done with learning to spell these words.
Task One – have one last go at practicing your words before you are tested. You could do this by doing Rainbow words or Pyramid words.
Task Two – assess your child on the spelling words for this week. For the spelling test you could read the word, then say the word in a sentence and finally repeat the word one last time.
Friday Fun Challenge:
This week we would like you to complete an exercise challenge to do 1000 steps or 1000 jumps. Be as creative as you want! You could do 1000 of anything exercise related such as star jumps, lunges or sit ups. But remember, be safe and don’t push yourself too much! Try and take a break and remember to drink plenty of water. Have fun!
