English:
This week we are going to focus on writing a setting description. The second lesson will be about reading comprehension. You will need to follow the link to complete the lesson – https://classroom.thenational.academy/lessons/read-example-text-reading-comprehension-781966/
Throughout the lesson, you will need to complete the following tasks:
- A prior knowledge quiz
- Watch a video
- Read through a slide show and answer questions
- Complete an exit quiz to show what you have learnt

Reading:
Reread Chapter 4 of A Sheep Dip to India which is available to read on Purple Mash.
Complete the open ending questions about the chapter that is attached below.
Remember to read your own book everyday (reading helps us develop fantastic language for our own writing!)
Spelling:
These are going to be your spelling words to learn this week:
Famous, porous, nervous, adventurous, ridiculous, courageous, carnivorous, outrageous, herbivorous, advantageous
NB: On Friday, test your child on how they have done with learning to spell these words.
Task One: create a word search using your spelling words for this week. This can just be done on paper at home.
Task Two: challenge yourself to find more words that end in -ous. How many can you find?

Task One – Test how much you have learnt about volcanoes by completing the following quiz.
Task Two – Read the volcano keyword and definitions given within the worksheet that is attached below. Use these to correctly label the cross section of the volcano.
