See below for the tasks we would like your child to complete today:
Home Learning for Thursday 23rd April 2020:
Here’s a little something to get your brain warmed up this morning!
Task One: Complete Lesson Four – Order Decimals on White Rose (Summer Term – Week One) – https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-4/
You will see that there is a short video that you can watch with your child and an activity to download and complete (we will also attach a downloaded version below). You will also see that there are answers attached if you would like to assess your child’s understanding.
Please email the completed work to your child’s teacher.
Task Two: Try the maths challenge below.
Try this online game to practise comparing decimals:
You could also have a go at this times-tables game:
Practise your times-tables speed with the 2do set on Purple Mash.
Task One: Logon to Education City and complete ‘The Plot Thickens’ activity, then with your new found knowledge complete the worksheet below.
Task Two: Handwriting Practise
Read Chapter 3 of Animal Boy on Purple Mash. It is important that you read the story again before you complete the Chapter Sequencing task below:
Remember to read your own book everyday (reading helps us develop fantastic language for our own writing!) Please email us to tell us about the book that you are reading.
These are your spelling words to learn this week: Continue to learn to spell them correctly.
Interact, interfere, intercity, international, intermediate, internet, intergalactic, interrupt, intervene, interlude.
NB: on Friday, test your child on how they have done with learning to spell these words.
Task One – Read the passage below. The passage is based on the Y3/Y4 statutory spelling words. Read through Mr Whoop’s passage. He has accidentally spelt twelve of the Y3/Y4 statutory spelling words incorrectly. Highlight the words you believe to be errors and provide the correct spellings at the bottom of the activity sheet. Use the spelling word mat to correct the spelling errors.
Look at the work of the artist Jennifer Angus below. She uses insects to create her artwork.
Task: Create a drawing in the style of Jennifer Angus on the worksheet provided.
Keep in touch – remember any work you have completed can be emailed to us, to be marked. This can be typed work or a photo.
