Please continue to keep in touch with me via my email below. Send through any work that your child has completed as well as any questions or support you may need. I will have access to my emails throughout the typical school day.
Also, remember to keep yourself active throughout the day and take some well-deserved brain breaks!

Complete LESSON THREE – MULTIPLY 2-DIGIT BY 1-DIGIT on White Rose (Week 2) – Spr4.2.2 – Multiply 2-digits by 1-digit on Vimeo
You will see that there is a short video that you can watch with your child and an activity to download and complete (I will also attach a downloaded version below with answers):
Extra: practice your times-tables speed with the 2do set on Purple Mash.
This will be our seventh lesson on Journey by Aaron Becker.
Task One – go through the PowerPoint attached below (all instructions are written clearly and there may be a voice recording to explain tasks in further detail). Read all slides carefully and write out answers to questions if they come up on the slides. You could discuss the slides and lesson with an adult at home.
Task Two – discuss and answer questions on the PowerPoint about colour. You could do this with someone at home if you wish.
Task Three – use the scaffold on the PowerPoint to write your own sentences that link colours to emotions. There is an example on the PowerPoint to help you get started.
Reread the chapter that has been set on Purple Mash (The Knockers – Chapter 2 OR Magic in the Moonlight – Chapter 1).
The Knockers – complete the open-ended questions that is attached below.
Magic in the Moonlight – complete the missing word task that is attached below.
Remember to read your own book everyday (reading helps us develop fantastic language for our own writing!)
Here are the two spelling lists for this week (make sure you continue to learn the spellings of ONE list):
NB: on Friday, your child will be tested on their spelling through a test set up on Purple Mash.
Task One – practice spelling your list by doing rainbow words (this could be done on paper at home).
Task Two – write 8 sentences using the words from your chosen list. You can use as many of the words as you like but you must have 8 sentences.
Our Computing unit this term is Writing for different Audiences. The first lesson is going to be on using a variety of font styles. Our aim is to explore how font size and style can affect the impact of a text. To do this we will look at a variety of written material where the font size and type are tailored to the purpose of the text. We will the use text formatting to make a piece of writing fit for its audience and purpose.
Task One – look at the slideshow that is set on Purple Mash. Have a look at the publications that are on the first slide. What do you think they are? Once you have had a think click through the remaining slides which will tell you the different sorts of publications we are going to be looking at.
Task Two – open the Newspaper Front Page that is set as a 2Do on Purple Mash and try to edit the text to make it look like a proper newspaper front cover. There are some photos in the gallery that children can add by clicking on the green cross in the picture box. The lower picture box can be used to upload a picture that children have found by doing an internet search. They should then save and hand in their work.
Extension – Newspapers try and keep a consistent font size throughout a news report – take another look at the newspaper you formatted and experiment on making text appear the same size and style throughout.
Is there a problem with the bottom left text area? You must become editors and decide which sentence(s) to cut to make the text fit in that text box. Can you explain which sentence you removed and why.
With text the same size throughout, how can you ensure that subheadings stand out? Can you make the text aligned on both the left, and right? Save the modified file.
Our music lessons will happen through Oak Academy. Follow this link to get to this weeks lesson – Understanding rhythm and pulse (thenational.academy)
In this lesson, you will be learning about pulse and rhythm. You will learn some new songs and how to keep a steady pulse. You will then use musical symbols to preform rhythms. To finish off there is a quiz to assess what you have learnt.
I hope you have a wonderful day and are keeping safe.
