Year 4 – Home Learning 12/2/21

Good morning everyone,

It was so lovely to see all the fantastic work you have been doing at home! Please continue sending it in as I love to see it. Remember, all tasks have now been set on Google Classroom in preparation for moving from out school website to Google Classroom.

Please continue to keep in touch with me via my email below. Send through any work that your child has completed as well as any questions or support you may need. I will have access to my emails throughout the typical school day.

I would also like to remind you that this will be the last post that will be posted on the school website for home learning. When we come back after half term all work will be set through Google Classroom (we will still continue to provide home learning packs as well).

Art:

This is the sixth lesson of our Art Unit: Mythological Paintings.

Go through the PDF that is attached below (this is the SMART that we would have gone through in class):

Art Lesson 6

I have also made a video that you could watch. I go through the SMART carefully and give you any instructions you need to complete the lesson. This is on Google Classroom, along with this lesson.

Any questions that you come across you could write down some answers or discuss them with someone at home. Make sure that you continue to read over the Knowledge Organiser every lesson.

Task One: A collage is a piece of art which is made from different materials, often paper or fabric, being stuck on a backing sheet.

You will use your drawings of the Minotaur (you have drawn two; use the one that you like the best), your mazes (done in lesson two) and some string to create a collage showing part of the story of Theseus and the Minotaur.

This is an example piece of work:

You will need to decide the following things:

  1. What colour paper to use for your backing sheet.
  2. How they you present your maze. Will you cut it up? Into how many pieces?
  3. Where will they put your Minotaur? In the middle/at the side?
  4. How will you arrange the string/wool? (This is to symbolise the string Theseus uses to find his way out of the maze.)

You will need to arrange the pieces of your picture first before you stick them down to ensure you are happy with their finished design. If you collected a home learning pack from school, you will notice that there is some coloured card and spring in there to help you complete your collage!

I cannot wait to see what you come up with so please, please, please send me a picture of your amazing art!!

I hope you have a wonderful half term! You have all worked so incredibly hard and I am so very proud!
