English:
This week we are going to focus on writing a news report. The first lesson will be about reading comprehension and fact retrieval. You will need to follow the link to complete the lesson – https://www.thenational.academy/year-4/english/news-report-reading-comprehension-fact-retrieval-year-4-wk3-1
Throughout the lesson you will need to complete the following tasks:
- A prior knowledge quiz
- Watch a video
- Read through a slide show and answer questions
- Complete an exit quiz to show what you have learnt

Reading:
Read Chapter 2 of A Sheep Dip to India which is available to read on Purple Mash.
Complete the multi-choice questions that have been set as a 2do on Purple Mash.
Remember to read your own book everyday (reading helps us develop fantastic language for our own writing!)
Spelling:
These are going to be your spelling words to learn this week:
Dangerous, hazardous, poisonous, riotous, mountainous, perilous, joyous, momentous, synonymous, scandalous
NB: On Friday, test your child on how they have done with learning to spell these words.
Task One – begin by practicing spelling these words with the look, say, cover, write, check task (this can be done on paper at home).
Task Two – complete the word search attached below.
Science:
Task One: Watch the learning screen that has been set on Education City (Infestigation). This learning screen will teach you all about creating a fair test to understand the conditions wood lice prefer to live in.
Task Two: complete the Environmental Impact Task Sheet that is attached below.
Task Three: using the things that you have learnt, create a poster to design the perfect habitat for wood lice. If you want to go above and beyond, you could try to do this outside using natural materials.
Extra: complete the game Infestigation that has been set on Education City.
