Monday 8th June 2020
Good morning everyone,
We hope you had a lovely weekend, are doing well and looking after yourselves.
Please remember to keep in touch with us using our emails. I (Miss Daglish) will be in school full time supporting a small group of children. I will do my best to respond to emails as quickly as I can but if you have any immediate questions or concerns, please direct these to Mrs Banton.
Look after yourself and have a lovely day!
See below for the tasks we would like your child to complete today:

Have a go at these times table games:
Practice your times-tables speed with the 2do set on Purple Mash.
This week we are going to focus on writing a news report. The first lesson will be about reading comprehension and fact retrieval. You will need to follow the link to complete the lesson – https://www.thenational.academy/year-4/english/news-report-reading-comprehension-fact-retrieval-year-4-wk3-1
Throughout the lesson you will need to complete the following tasks:

All these tasks can be found by using the link above.
Read Chapter 2 of A Sheep Dip to India which is available to read on Purple Mash.
Complete the multi-choice questions that have been set as a 2do on Purple Mash.
Remember to read your own book everyday (reading helps us develop fantastic language for our own writing!)
These are going to be your spelling words to learn this week:
Dangerous, hazardous, poisonous, riotous, mountainous, perilous, joyous, momentous, synonymous, scandalous
NB: On Friday, test your child on how they have done with learning to spell these words.
Task One – begin by practicing spelling these words with the look, say, cover, write, check task (this can be done on paper at home).
Task Two – complete the word search attached below.
Task One: Watch the learning screen that has been set on Education City (Infestigation). This learning screen will teach you all about creating a fair test to understand the conditions wood lice prefer to live in.
Task Two: complete the Environmental Impact Task Sheet that is attached below.
Task Three: using the things that you have learnt, create a poster to design the perfect habitat for wood lice. If you want to go above and beyond, you could try to do this outside using natural materials.
Extra: complete the game Infestigation that has been set on Education City.
