Friday is challenge day. Have a go at completing the challenges below.
Please email the completed work to your child’s teacher.
Please continue to practise your times tables with the 2do set on Purple Mash.
Watch the short clip to learn about what paragraphs are and why we need to use them in our writing.
Complete the worksheet below
You need to read each paragraph, decide what it is about and write it underneath.
Think carefully about the information that is included in each paragraph. Ask yourself: How does it link together?
A paragraph is a collection of sentences.
Paragraphs are used in writing to introduce new sections of a story, characters or pieces of information.
Paragraphs help readers to enjoy what has been written because they break text up into easy-to-read sections.
Follow these rules for perfect paragraphs.
- All the sentences within a paragraph should be about the same person, place, time or topic.
- When the person, place, time or topic changes, you should start a new paragraph.
- Every new paragraph should start on a new line.
Remember to email your completed work to your class teacher
Read Chapter 1 of A sheep dip in India (the story has been set on Purple Mash for the week).
In Chapter 1, William was feeling very frustrated and annoyed with his parents. Everyone gets annoyed with their family sometimes. Write a list of some of the most annoying things about your parents or family members.
