Year 3 Home Learning 28.04.2020

Good morning, Year 3!

I hope you have all managed to make a card for Sir Tom Moore from the Fun Friday task- you still have time to complete this on purplemash. Remember, I have also set you tasks on purplemash, you can find these in your “ToDo” section.

English

You should have been able to read the story Mr Coyote Meets Mr Snail which I posted onto our website. Write your own questions about the text using these 5 question stems:

How…?

Who…?

What…?

Where…?

Why…?

As an extra challenge, try these question stems:

Should…?

Is it…?

Can…?

Maths

Using your poster from yesterday, work out what these numbers would be:

Roman Numerals to numbers:

XXXVI

LIV

LXXXII

XV

CXL

CCVIII

Now write these numbers in Roman Numerals:

67                  19                   23                  55                     130                 1500                 361

Science

We are going to explore fossils for the next few lessons. Fossils are old remains of animals, particularly dinosaurs which have been sealed or imprinted into mud/ clay/sand or soil which hardened into rocks.

fossil info

Your task today is to read the information on different fossils and make notes on the information. There are many ways to do this; you could print off the information and highlight key facts; you could read the facts and write them with bullet points on a piece of paper or you could complete further research online (just be careful about the websites you use) and add other facts to what you have read.

Here are the fact pages you need to read:  Fossil Facts

Art

Have a go at drawing the face of a family member. Use this slide which gives you step by step instructions. All you need is a pencil, a ruler and plain piece of paper. You can add colour when you have finished if you would like to.

Take care and stay safe,
