On Monday, we were joined by the author and illustrator of Shackleton’s expedition, William Grill. We were extremely lucky to have Will come into School especially having spent most of our sessions learning about Sir Ernest Shackleton and his expedition, a long with the difficulties he faced. Will focused on his art work and helped inspire the children into using their imagination more in order to come up with interesting stories or ideas to write about. We spent a lot of the morning using oils to experiment with a variety of strokes to produce different types of art, we tried recreating pictures of the dogs and crew which were on board the Endurance.
