This afternoon the children of Year 6 took part in a Science session focused on Electricity at Haberdashers School For Boys. The lesson was led by a physics teacher and a group of keen Sixth Formers who started off by explaining to the children important information about energy and how it can be created. Following on from this, the children then explored making their own circuits using bulbs, wires and batteries before drawing the main circuit symbols. The children were then given the challenge to draw some of their own circuits on the whiteboard. Finally we revisited insulators and conductors in preparation for our next session where we will be testing different materials in series and parallel circuits. It was a really interesting session and another step taken in their transitional journey from Primary to Secondary as they began to see what classrooms are like as well as the different equipment that can be used.
