Parkside vs Monksmead (Girls)
WOW! I’m not sure a report credits the girls highly enough after yesterday’s first performance. Unfortunately the score (8-1) suggests we were well beaten but in truth we had a number of chanceS and probably deserved more from the game or at least a few more goals. This was also the first game of football for a number of these girls and at the start of Friday morning, I only had 5 who were available to play, so I’m very grateful for those who came in at short notice. The attitude of the girls was fantastic, they battled so hard and kept smiling throughout. The more these girls play together, then I’m sure the wins will come, even the coach at Monksmead credited the girls on such a strong performance especially in the second half where they started to play more as a team. The joy and excitement after Sarayah had scored our first goal of the season in competitive sports was a very proud moment and to be honest I just couldn’t contain my excitement on the sidelines. Thank you all for a great Friday evening and for the support the parents gave on the sidelines, once again we have shown how united we are at Parkside by continuing to support each other.
