MacMillan Coffee Morning

19th September 2018

Dear Parents/Carers,

We warmly invite you to our: MacMillan Coffee Morning  Wednesday 26th September 2018 8:50 am – 9:20am

The first ever Coffee Morning happened way back in 1990. It was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective, we did it again the next year – only this time nationally. Since then, Coffee Morning has raised over £200 million for Macmillan.

The school is supporting this wonderful annual event by holding its own coffee morning next week. We warmly welcome any donations that you are able to provide which will be sold at a reasonable cost. Perhaps you would like to make a cake with your child?

A slice of cake and a coffee will cost £1.00 and any surplus cake will be sold after school to the children. The event will take place in the school hall once you have dropped your child to school.

All proceeds will be sent to the McMillan Cancer Trust in support of their ongoing work. The event is an opportunity for us all to come together as a school community and share time over a coffee and cake knowing that we are supporting an excellent charity. Last year, £27 million was raised for MacMillan Cancer Support.

If you are able to make, or provide a cake for the coffee morning, please can you send them in to school with your child on TUESDAY 25TH SEPTEMBER or bring them after school on the same day. This will give the staff enough time to prepare for the event. If you are sending in a cake in a tin please can you make sure that it is labelled.

We look forward to receiving your donations and to welcoming you next week.

Yours faithfully
