Headteacher’s Newsletter – Friday 9th June 2023 – Summer 6

The second half of the summer term always brings the promise of good weather and once again the start of June has shown this to be true. During the warm summer months, please make sure that your child comes to school with a hat and water bottle and that you apply sunscreen to them before they come to school. We are not allowed to apply sunscreen to the children but, they may however, apply it to themselves should you supply them with a bottle.  Our annual sports days take place next week. You should have received a letter which explains in detail how the event will unfold and we look forward to welcoming you all next Thursday and Friday. The children have returned for their last half term of the year and have settled straight back in to well established routines and we look forward to seeing them make good progress over the last few remaining weeks of the year.

The word of the week is – CHARETTE – (1950s) a period of intense activity in order to meet a deadline/upon noticing the time when you still have a pile of stuff to do.

ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY – There were 18 children from 15 families who came late to school this week on over 29 occasions. Many children who come to school late are often from the same families.
