Headteacher’s Newsletter – Friday 5th May 2023 – Summer 3
What a fantastic time we all had yesterday. We were very fortunate with the weather and it was a real pleasure to see so many families at our coronation event. The children really enjoyed making their crowns, eating ice creams, working as a team during the silly races, dressing up in the photo booths and bursting with energy on the bouncy castles. They sang their hearts out for you all and judging by the way the cake was polished off everyone had a really wonderful time. Events of this nature are important reminders not only of the way they support the children’s learning in a relaxed and exciting manner but also as a way of bringing us together as a community to celebrate a very important event. My thanks must go to the staff for making it all happen, they were exceptional. We hope that your own coronation events are just as exciting.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT SCHOOL WILL BE CLOSED ON MONDAY 8th MAY FOR THE KING’S CORONATION
This week’s word of the week is – RAMFEEZLED – from the 18th century: wrung out and exhausted

VISIT FROM THE MAYOR OF HERTSMERE – Councillor John Graham visited the school on Friday afternoon to hear about the wonderful coronation event we held yesterday. He listened to the school council describe how they enjoyed the different events and was impressed by what he discovered. Thank you Mr Mayor for visiting our school and for your very generous donation of £500.
WD6 FOOD SUPPORT – The WD6 Food support is open on WEDNESDAY & FRIDAYS from 3:15pm – 4:30pm. Parkside families can have access from 3:15pm directly after school.
PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ATTEND
ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY – There were 17 children from 13 families who came late to school this week on over 19 occasions. Many children who come to school late are often from the same families. This has to improve this summer term. Please make every effort to be on time for school, the effect it has on your child can have a lasting impact on their rates of progress.
