Headteacher’s Newsletter – Friday 5th February 2021 – Spring 4

Next week signals the half way point in the academic year  and what a 6 months it has been. I wanted to start this newsletter by thanking you all for your dedication and resilience. Over the best part of the last twelve months you have been parents/carers to your children, educators and influencers but most importantly an inspiration to us all and for these reasons you should congratulate yourself for the way you have handled the situation. As a school we understand how difficult the current lockdown has been  and the challenges you have all faced. Unfortunately we are not in a position to take the children back until further notice and we know that the current position won’t change until March 8th, but we will be here to support you through the next 4 weeks. As the late NF Porter once sang – ” You have to keep on keeping on!”

The word of the week – GELID – icy, exteme cold. The swimmer immediately regretted wading into the gelid waters, as the coldness of the lake was almost unbearable.

EXAMPLES OF CHILDREN’S WORK THIS WEEK

GOOGLE MEETS – To further support families teachers have set up two more meetings during the school week for 15 to 20 minutes to meet with the children. They are an opportunity for them to share their feelings about their learning or wellbeing. Teachers will send through details about the meeting shortly. Please make sure once you have the details please make every effort to attend.
PLEASE REMEMBER THE SESSIONS ARE COMPLETELY VOLUNTARY.

Mr Wanless has organised a number of activities for the children next week but in between times please look at the image below and try asking your child a few questions to check in with them.
