Next week teachers and support staff return to work for the first time since March 17th to prepare classrooms and communal areas ready to welcome children in our Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 classes from June 8th. It has been a long time since we last saw the children and there are many things we need to consider before the school gates reopen. Next week we install two washing stations in our playgrounds for the children to use when they are outside and plans are in place to make sure everyone adheres to the strict social distancing rules we must follow. Mr Honour has been working hard to clear the grounds, especially at the rear of the KS2 playground and they will be ready to welcome the children back to school a week on Monday. The roofing project continues at pace and is ahead of schedule. Next week we will send out a series of videos that will explain to the children what to expect once we return on June 8th. Please look out for them in your inboxes, we will also upload them on to the school website. Stay safe.
The word of the week is – SLIVING – A thin slice of bread or meat, or a splinter of wood. (Yorkshire)
