Headteacher’s Newsletter – Friday 27th January 2023 – Spring 4
It has felt like a very long week but we have arrived at the end of January with the promise of longer days to come. I sent you all a letter yesterday regarding next week’s industrial action, please click on the link below to read the letter in full if you haven’t done so. May I ask that if your child is in receipt of a benefit free school meal, that you inform the office if you would like them to have a packed lunch on Wednesday 1st February no later than MONDAY 30th JANUARY. They can be collected from the school office from 11:30am on the day of the strike. Our boys and girls football teams took part in the Borehamwood FC schools tournament on Wednesday and acquitted themselves well. They were knocked out of the tournament towards the latter half of the tournament but both teams gave a good account of themselves. Well done to those of you who took part and were good ambassadors for our school.

GOODBYE MRS DEVONSHIRE – Today, we say goodbye to Mrs Devonshire. She has worked at the school for nearly 15 years and has held a number of different roles during this time. She has been a member of staff who has supported her colleagues with great care but more importantly the children and their families. She takes up a new post in Hatfield as a Thrive practitioner and I am sure that you will all join me in wishing her every success in her new role. Good luck Mrs Devonshire, you will be missed.
WD6 FOOD SUPPORT – The WD6 Food support is open on WEDNESDAY & FRIDAYS from 3:15pm – 4:30pm. Parkside families can have access from 3:15pm directly after school.
PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ATTEND
LEAVING SCHOOL BEFORE THE END OF THE DAY – From time to time children will need to leave school before the end of the school day. In order for us to release your child we ask that you provide documentation to the school office to verify all appointments. Thank you.
ASSEMBLIES AND WORKSHOPS – Parents and Carers are invited to come into school to watch their children perform at their forthcoming class assembly. The assemblies will start at 9.15am and should last no longer than 15 minutes. After the assembly there will be a parent workshop which will focus on developing children’s and parents’ confidence in reading and spelling. Parents and Carers are invited to come into school to watch their children perform their assembly.
The assemblies will start at 9.15am and should last no longer than 15 minutes. The workshop us intended for families for families to learn together in a fun and exciting way and to share time in a relaxed environment. Your child’s class teacher will lead the session which will last 45 minutes. Many of the activities will have a practical element to them and will help you understand the different methods ways the children are taught and how they apply the different ways they are taught.
ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY – There were 14 children from 10 families who were late to school on 21 occasions this week. Many children who come to school late are often from the same families. Please make every effort to be on time for school, the effect it has on your child can have a lasting impact on their rates of progress.
