We welcomed the announcement by the prime minister earlier this week that children of school age will return to school on Monday 8th March. Teachers and support staff have been busy making preparations for their return but there is much to be done in between times. Our main focus over the weeks ahead will be on a return to learning and for the children to spend time as a class rekindling friendships, spending time learning outdoors and talking about their experiences through lockdown. The children’s wellbeing and emotional development will be key to helping them to ease back in to routines and start plugging the gaps that have been created because of the pandemic. Please remain patient over the next few weeks whilst we find ‘our groove’ as a school. We will continue to communicate with you in a variety of ways about the plans we have for the future and we look forward to welcoming the children back and an enjoyable summer term.
The word of the week is – WEATHER-MOUTH – A bright, sunny patch of sky on the horizon flanked by two dense banks of cloud is the weather-mouth. (Scots)
CHILDREN’S RETURN TO LEARNING – When school reopens on Monday 8th March it is important for the children to refamilarise themselves of the high standards we want them to uphold. They must return to school in full school uniform which includes; the wearing of proper school shoes – no trainers or boots, acceptable hair cuts and clean uniform. If for any reason you are struggling to source school uniform please make contact with the school where we will give you as much help as we can.
DROP OFF AND COLLECTION TIMES – We will continue to open the gates on Allerton and Aycliffe from 8:30am from Monday 8th March when ALL children are expected to return to school. Gates will close at 8:55am so please make sure that you are on time. There are a number of families who struggle to bring their child to school on time on a regular basis, please make every effort to set the right example by using the breakfast club which will be open from 7:45am if you experience difficulties with routines in the morning.
