Headteacher’s Newsletter – Friday 24th April- Summer 1

Firstly I would like to welcome you all back to possibly the strangest start to a term I have ever experienced as a teacher. I hope that you are all keeping well and managing to stay safe. I know the staff are missing the children terribly and have prepared a surprise for them which will be revealed next week. There has been no guidance from the government as to when schools will reopen, all we know is that the lock down will continue for another two weeks. Teachers and senior leaders have been in regular contact with many families over the past few weeks, something we will continue to do until we return. Please make sure that you check the school website everyday for the latest news and updates regarding learning activities that teachers have set for your children. If you are unable to access the site please send an email to your child’s class teacher who will prepare a pack of work which will be delivered to your house on a regular basis. Please stay safe and to maintain all forms of social distancing at all times.

The word of the week is – QUAALTAGH – The first person you see after you leave your house. Comes from an old Celtic New Year tradition in which the first person you see or speak to on the morning of January 1, the quaaltagh, was interpreted as a sign of what was to come in the year ahead. (Isle of Man)

SOCIAL MEDIA – Mr Wanless is constantly updating the school’s Twitter feed and will be re-establishing the Facebook and Instagram account over the coming week. Further details to follow next week.

PARENT AND CARER SUPPORT – The school website has a number of links to support families in a variety of different ways. We have added a new page under the PARENT TAB called PARENT AND CARER SUPPORT. You will find a list of agencies you can access should you require them. It will be added to over the coming weeks with more information and suggestions about how we can support one another as families during these very unprecedented times. We also have a links page to educational resources which you can access at any time  too. Please make good use of them.

MRS MATTHOLIE WILL BE UPDATING THE PAGE THIS WEEK, PLEASE CHECK FOR NEW UPDATES
