Headteacher’s Newsletter – Friday 23rd June 2023 – Summer 8

After a relatively busy week last week it has been very quiet across the school this week. A working farm spent the afternoon in the Early Years today and the children had a wonderful day exploring their learning through discovery. A wonderful day was had by all in the Early Years and we look forward to seeing them again. We look forward to welcoming our new families next week at a specially arranged meeting which will take place on Tuesday morning. Please make them feel welcome. During the hot months please make sure that your child comes to school in the correct uniform. They will continue to grow so please make sure that you provide them with shoes, shorts dresses and PE kit that is inline with the school policy. They should also bring a hat and a water bottle and apply sunscreen through the day should they need it.

The word of the week is – STOUND (15th Century) a sudden pang of emotion, as felt perhaps when hearing a familiar piece of music, or catching a particular scent.

POEM OF THE WEEK

THIS WEEK’S EXAMPLES OF THE CHILDREN’S WORK

The photos from this week were taken as part of the children in Year 3 and 5’s First Aid workshop that took place earlier this week. Mrs Samways entered a competition which she won and the first prize was a first aid practical workshop which I am sure you will agree is a very important life skill for every child to have.
