Two successful sports days, two semi final appearances in local football cup competitions, trips to the south bank and Paradise Wildlife Park, observations of guided reading and making the final preparations for the summer fair have made it another busy week. The children have made us all very proud this week with their efforts and continue to work hard. We need to harness the energy of the past three weeks through the rest of the term to make sure we finish the year on a high and ready to start the new academic year. Please continue to support the school in all that we do.
Word of the week – HOGUNG – meaning endeavour. If we could all hogung a little more in our lives who knows what we could achieve. Aspire to be more.
OPEN EVENING – THURSDAY 27TH JUNE – 3:30PM – 5:30PM – EVERYONE IS WELCOME
This Thursday we hold our inaugural open evening. It is an opportunity for all members of the school community to come together and to witness the hard work and achievements the children have made through the year. Events of this nature can not be advertised widely enough because they are such an important way of showcasing the school and the standards we want for our children here at Parkside. You are invited to visit all of the classes and buildings and to sample the atmosphere across the school . PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD AND THE SCHOOL BY SPENDING AN HOUR OR SO LOOKING AT AND TALKING TO THE STAFF ABOUT OUR SCHOOL AND YOUR CHILD. Tea, coffee and cake will be served in the school canteen.
PUNCTUALITY – It is incredibly important that we reduce this figure week on week. The occasional difficulty which can delay a child’s arrival to school is something we understand as a school but there are many of you who bring your child late to school on a regular basis. 50 times this week children arrived late to school. We want to help our families as much as we can so if you are finding it difficult in the mornings please speak to Mrs Toms our Pastoral Support Lead or myself. We are stronger as a community if we work together.
