Headteacher’s Newsletter – Friday 1st April 2022 – Spring 12

Despite the snow and the cold the children had a wonderful end to the term. They wore their Easter bonnets with pride, hunted high and low for tokens to exchange and wore their brightly coloured clothes with style. It has been a very busy week for the children and once again they showed us just how hard they have worked. You will see from the pictures of the eggs below examples of their artistic talents and the lengths they went to to decorate them. Both of our football teams were in action once again this week and managed to make it to the semi finals of a local competition. Mr Wanless has written a little article below about their wonderful achievements. Marky Mark’s disco proved to be very popular once again and my sincere thanks must go to Nick and Nadia who worked incredibly hard to make the event a great success. This week’s newsletter is rather long so please don’t give up until the very end! All that is left to say is have a wonderful Easter and we look forward to welcoming you all back for the start of the summer term on WEDNESDAY 20th APRIL.

The word of the week is – THINKACHE – (19th Century): the bone-weariness that comes from too much thinking.

BOYS AND GIRLS FOOTBALL REPORT – On Wednesday Borehamwood Football Club hosted a great day of football for our Girls and Boys.  Although the day ended with heartbreak, each one of our children should be immensely proud of their achievements. Both teams reached the Semi-Finals and just fell short of reaching the final, the girls eventually losing 2-0 and the boys ending their journey with a 3-2 loss on penalties.

As I said to the teams, myself, Mr Honour and Miss Bowers are so proud of them, and they should hold their heads up high with how they represented the school and how well they played throughout the whole tournament.

Thank You for playing with pride and determination – it is a joy and a privilege to be able to take you to these tournaments and watch you progress, not only as players and a team but as individuals too.

A final thank you must also go to Boreham Wood Football Club for hosting a fantastic day of football for our local schools. 👏
