Headteacher’s Newsletter – Friday 17th May 2019
As another SATs week draws to close we should thank the children for working hard through the week and doing their best. Thanks must also be given to the staff who helped to prepare them over the past seven years. It has been a very full week this week; the book fayre came and went, showings of Incredibles 2 and the Return of Mary Poppins at the Friends of Parkside popcorn nights, Key Stage 1 and 2 SATs tests and visits from curriculum advisers. In this very short half term it has certainly been very busy. Preparations are well under way for the forthcoming summer fair which takes place on SATURDAY JUNE 22nd from 12pm through to 3pm. If you are able to help in any way please complete the letters that were sent out this week. Events like this cannot take place without your continued support so please make every effort to be a part of something special.
Word of the week –EXPERGEFACTOR – Something that wakes you up is an expergefactor. For most of us it’s our alarm clocks, but it could be anything from a chirping bird to a noisy neighbour.
SUMMER FAIR – SATURDAY 22nd JUNE 2019 12PM – 3PM – This year we will hold the Parkside Community School Summer Fair in the grounds of the school. Some of the stalls that you can expect to experience include, bouncy castles, barbecued and other world food, tea, coffee, cakes, bottle stall / tombola, chocolate tombola, a raffle with a top prize of £200 cash, beat the keeper and much much more. FRIDAY 21st JUNE – Children to bring in cakes to be sold at the cake stall in exchange they can wear their own clothes.
All money raised will be spent on resources for the children for them to enjoy and develop standards across the school. It promises to be a lovely day and let’s hope the weather holds! Don’t forget to return the letter asking for donations of food too. Let’s make it an event to remember!
