Headteacher’s Newsletter – Friday 15th October 2021 – Autumn 7

We are at the end of another busy week with just one more before the half term break. The children and are continuing to work incredibly hard and enjoying their learning. Reception, year 1 and 2 thoroughly enjoyed an interactive Road Safety magic show in the hall yesterday. Their laughter could be heard from the office!

The teachers are looking forward to meeting you remotely for Parent Consultations to discuss your child’s progress on Wednesday 20th 3.30–5.30 or Thursday 21st 3.30-7.00. Please make sure you sign up if you have not done so already. The zoom link will be sent next week.

As part of Black History Month the children will take part in a variety of activities next week to mark the occasion.

Harvest Festival assembly will be next Friday. This is our time to give thanks for all the good things in our lives. To support others who may need our help, we have teamed up with The Mead Care Home and are asking for donations of toiletries to give to the residents. This is a lovely gift for those who may not have relatives living close by and will be greatly appreciated.

THIS WEEK’S EXAMPLES OF THE CHILDREN’S WORK:

Coronavirus Update:

We have had a small number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 over the past two weeks. We continue to follow the current government guidance which states that anyone under the age of 18 is not required to self-isolate if they have come into close contact with a positive case. However, if your child displays any cold type symptoms such as a runny nose, cough, headache, temperature and sore throat, we would recommend booking a PCR test (Lateral Flow tests are not suitable for under 11 or those with symptoms). We will continue to keep you updated as appropriate.

Ticket sales for next month’s Firework Extravaganza are going well. Members of the Parents and Friends of Parkside will continue to sell tickets after school on the playground next week. All tickets are priced at £4 per person. Please make every effort to buy a ticket and to bring along friends and family.
