Headteacher’s Newsletter – Friday 14th July 2023 – Summer 11

As we come to the last week of term there is still much to be done. You have all received your child’s end of year report and should feel very proud of their achievements. The school continues to do well and this year’s statutory results were very pleasing. I hope that you received the letters that accompanied your child’s results for those of you in Years 2 and 6 which explained the overall levels of attainment the children achieved compared to national statistics. The children have worked hard all year and deserved to do well. We end the year on a high and look forward to hitting the ground running in the new academic year. Another busy week saw the children take part in pedestrian training, the gardening club participate in their annual Vegfest and the children of Year 4 take part in a pedestrian safety training session with Cathy Scarrott, our safety travel officer. On top of all of that the children met their new class teachers and support staff on Thursday morning. They really enjoyed the couple of hours learning all about their new teacher and what to expect in September. Year 6 performed I’m An 11 Year Old Get Me Out of Here to the school and their families this week and they didn’t disappoint. The singing was incredible and the acting was high class. Very well done to each and everyone of you and to Miss Wood and Mrs Knowles for preparing you so well.

This is the last newsletter of the year and I would like to take this opportunity of thanking you all for your continued support and wish you all a happy and peaceful summer. And to the children in Year 6 – ALL THE VERY BEST OF LUCK YOU HAVE BEEN AMAZING!!

The last word of the week for this  year is – Quinzhee – snow shelter with domed chamber dug into it.
