We have reached the halfway point of the year and the promise of spring is in the air! After what seems like the longest half term of the year we arrive at a much needed half term break. The children have worked very hard through the year and have made good progress. There has been much to celebrate and a lot to look forward too. Our Family Learning Conferences took place this week and I hope that you had an opportunity to hear from your child’s class teacher about their progress. If you were unable to make an appointment to see them please make every effort to speak to them after school so that another appointment can be made. Have a lovely half term and we look forward to welcoming the children back on Monday week.
The word of the week is : HANSPER: Pain and stiffness felt in the legs after a long walk.
COUNTY REVIEW – Kelly Moss our Improvement Partner visited school a couple of weeks ago to carry out the Spring review of the school. She picked up on the themes of Absence and Punctuality and took a deep dive in to Computing. She was concerned about the overall levels of attendance and felt satisfied that whilst the school is doing everything it can to support families, levels of attendance must improve. Mrs Conway in the school office will be introducing Bronze Silver and Gold certificate awards for attendance and smaller certificates that children can put on their bags or pencil cases which display their overall attendance on a weekly basis.
The teaching of Computing was judged to be good but there are still areas we need to improve on as a school. Mrs Moss will continue to work with the school through the rest of the year to ensure standards remain high.
OFSTED REPORT – It is now official that we are a “GOOD” school. The report has now been published on the Ofsted website and can be found at the following link – https://files.ofsted.gov.uk/v1/file/50144552
