Headteacher’s Newsletter – Friday 12th March 2021 – Spring 8

Having the children back at school really lifted everyone’s spirits this week. They have settled back in to their routines remarkably well and have responded with enthusiasm and enjoyment in their lessons. This was validated on Thursday by the county. Our Hertfordshire Improvement Partner was incredibly impressed with the way the school supported  the children’s (learning) through the latest lockdown and the way they have responded on their return. The school continues to goes from strength to strength and standards remain high. Please continue to support the school in everything that we do be it from signing your child’s reading record to sending them to school in the correct uniform.

The word of the week is – FORBLISSED –  filled with happiness.

PARENT/CARER – TEACHER CONSULTATIONS – These very important meetings take place on Wednesday 24th March and Thursday 25th March. Appointments can be booked on the Teachers2Parents application and will take place using ZOOM. The link to the meetings will be sent out closer to the date. Teachers will speak to you about your child’s engagement with their learning through lockdown and how they have settled on their return to learning. Please make every effort to attend these meetings. They are limited to 10 minutes per appointment.

RED NOSE DAY – This year’s Red Nose Day takes place on Friday March. Red Noses has been ordered and can be bought from next week.  Please note we have only ordered 2 boxes which equates to 80 noses and will be sold on first come first served basis. If you would like your child to have a nose please send them in to school with £1.50. WE WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN THE NOSES ARE FOR SALE NEXT WEEK.

ATTENDANCE & PUNCTUALITY – There were 18 occasions when children came late to school this week (8 families). It is so important that your child comes to school on time everyday. It sets the right example and is an incredibly important life skill. If you are struggling in the mornings we are on hand to offer lots of advice and support. Please contact Mrs Matthoile our Parental Engagement Officer via email or by phone.

PARKSIDE FLYERS – It was a lovely moment to award our first set of wings for the year, the children were thrilled to receive them. Congratulations to: Eliana, Lily, Kacee, Runiya, Miriam, David, Alex, Megan, Michael and Luke.
