After a bitterly cold week we come to the end of the first half term of the year. It has been a very difficult six weeks for everyone and we should all feel proud of the efforts we have gone to in making sure the children’s education has continued despite the many challenges we have faced. The prime minister will set out the road map for the easing of lockdown restrictions on February 22nd with the hope that schools will reopen on March 8th. I hope that you all have a peaceful half term and manage to enjoy some much needed time to relax.
The word of the week is – OBGANIATE – to say the same thing over and over again to the point of annoyance
CHILDREN’S MENTAL HEALTH WEEK – The children have completed some lovely work this week as they explored the importance of mental health. Year 3 got in touch with their feelings and Year 6 made some inside out boxes which revealed their hidden depths. It has been fascinating to see how the children have expressed themselves through a range of mediums this week as they grow in their understanding of how important it is to have a positive mental attitude. You can see further examples of their work on the school’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/parksideschool
SOCIAL MEDIA – Mr Wanless does a fantastic job in promoting the latest events and happenings at Parkside. If you haven’t done so please join us on Twitter at – @headparkside and on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/parksideschool
WORKPACKS – For those families who require work packs of activities they will be available to collect from the school office from MONDAY 22nd FEBRUARY.
