THERE HAVE BEEN O RECORDED
The new half term started where the last one finished off with another whole school event – CIRCUIT TRAINING! Mr Wanless arranged for the children to take part in an hour’s activity on Wednesday which they thoroughly enjoyed. It was great to see everybody so active on such a warm day. Healthy body and healthy minds – the key to long lasting fitness. The grand opening of the WD 6 Food Support was a tremendous success. We were blessed with fine weather and the children families and staff were joined by members of the local council including the mayor and a couple of trustees from the charity who support the venture. Over 30 families accessed the food bank and left with some lovely treats and even a bunch of flowers or two. Please tell everyone you know about the food bank and how to access it. Details can be found below. Do keep abreast of the events that are taking place this term. Mrs Conway updates the dates for the diary on a regular basis so please keep checking to see what has been uploaded.
PLEASE NOTE DURING THE WARM WEATHER CHILDREN MUST WEAR A HAT (WITH THEIR NAME EASILY IDENTIFIED ON THE INSIDE) TO SCHOOL AND BRING A BOTTLE OF WATER. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU APPLY SUNSCREEN BEFORE THEY COME TO SCHOOL BECUASE WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO APPLY IT. Thank you
The word of the week is – SPUDDLE – an obscure and rather beautiful way to describe something as rubbish.
POEM OF THE WEEK –
“Far up in the deep blue sky,
Great white clouds are floating by;
All the world is dressed in green;
Many happy birds are seen,
Roses bright and sunshine clear
Show that lovely June is here.”
THIS WEEK’S EXAMPLES OF THE CHILDREN’S WORK –
ATTENDANCE MONOPOLY – We have worked incredibly hard as a school to improve our attendance on a regular basis. Another new initiative we will be introducing over the next couple of weeks is Attendance Monopoly. If classes have attendance of 95% or over they will be rewarded with a treat, similar to the ones on the picture below. It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that children come to school on time everyday. We look forward to celebrating the children’s discipline and excellent attendance records.
RECEPTION AND NURSERY PLACES – We still have a few places available in our Nursery and Reception classes for September 2021. The school is performing very well and we have been recognised by the county and the government for the standards we set for the children. Please tell everyone you know about us!!
