The penultimate week of term always proves to be one of the most challenging and this week has been no exception. Our Christmas performances passed off without a hitch because of the excellent preparations and the children were amazing. Arrangements are being made for next week’s Christmas parties and pyjama day and staff have chosen their secret Santa. We look forward to the last week of term with great excitement and thank you for all of your support during the past three and a half months.
The word of the week is – CLIMB TACK – A cat that likes to walk along high shelves or picture rails is a climb-tack. (Yorkshire)
CHRISTMAS PERFORMANCES – Thursday’s Christmas performances signalled the beginning of Christmas. The children were absolutely amazing and gave their very best. The staff prepared them well in a very short space of time and thanks must be given to them for making all four performances go so well. The editing process begins this weekend and we hope to have the final films ready for the end of term. The final edits will be made available on the school’s You Tube channel and can only be viewed by email invitation only.
CORONAVIRUS UPDATES OVER THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY – Earlier today I sent a link to you all which explained what to do should your child test positive for Coronavirus over the Christmas holiday. In the event that your child tests positive or comes in to contact with anyone who tests positive, it is your responsibility to let the school know if this happens. We will continue to monitor the school’s admin email account and telephone voicemail service until Christmas Eve and again from the 27th of December intermittently and take the appropriate course of action. Thank you.
CHRISTMAS TREE – Thank you to everyone who sent in a decoration for the tree, as you can see it looks resplendent! With one week to go the tree has certainly proved to be a big hit with the staff, children and governors.
CHRISTMAS CARD – PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU OPEN THE CHRSTMAS CARD THAT HAS BEEN EMBEDDED ON TO THE HOME PAGE OF THE SCHOOL WEBSITE , WE HOPE THAT YOU ENJOY WATCHING IT
CHRISTMAS PYJAMA DAY – We want to end the term in style so we are asking that the children and staff come to school on FRIDAY 18th DECEMBER in either their Christmas pyjamas or their usual pyjamas they would wear to bed. The long range forecast for next Friday is mixed. The temperature is set to be 12 degrees with the chance of cloud and rain. Please make sure that you send your child to school with a coat that has their name clearly identified and a dressing gown (should you wish). We look forward to seeing the children in their pyjamas.
PARKSIDE FLYERS AND HOT CHOCOLATE – Congratulations to Halil, Erika, Calli-Rose, Zakaria, Zuhra, Helena, Ela, Lili, Samuel, Abena, Khaali and Odin and who were this week’s flyer. Keep soaring high and reaching for the sky children. Aspiration is everything.
It was lovely to have two cups of hot chocolate with the children this week. I met with Abdi, Layth, Anita and Jack on Monday who were last week’s winners and Ervis, Naveed, Ashton and Kayden who were this week’s recipients. We all had a great conversation about a whole host of different topics; I was certainly kept entertained!
ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY – There were 20 pupils who were late this week who came late to school on 28 occasions. This is an INCREASE of 8 late arrivals which is a great improvement from last week. Thank you to everyone who drops their child to school on time. LET’S REALLY TRY AND MAKE NEXT WEEK THE WEEK WHERE WE HAVE NO CHILD COMING LATE TO SCHOOL!
