Over the course of last half term, the children on 6 Oak have work tirelessly on improving their descriptive writing to form a story based on a media clip called Alma. We focused on building stamina, using interesting vocabulary as well as figurative language in the hope to build suspense and engage the reader throughout their writing.
Below is the link to the clip and pictures of the children’s writing taken from their books. Having read all their writing, there has been massive strides taken since September in terms of the children building their ideas to create more vivid imagery for the reader as well as now being able to consider character emotions and thoughts alongside technical skills such as varied sentence lengths and interesting sentence openers.
