Childrens Mental Health Week
Children’s Mental Health Week is run by children’s mental health charity Place2Be which focuses on the importance of looking after our emotional wellbeing from an early age. This year’s theme is ‘Find your Brave’
Bravery comes in all shapes and sizes and is different for everyone. Bravery can be about sharing worries and asking for help, trying something new or pushing yourself outside your comfort zone. Finding your brave can build your confidence, self-esteem and make you feel good about yourself.
This Children’s Mental Health Week, we are going to try and help spread the word and raise awareness of this important issue. Did you know that 1 in 8 children and young people have a diagnosable mental health condition and I think it is important we acknowledge just how important our children’s emotional wellbeing is.
Also as part of this week, Thursday 6th February 2020 will be ‘Inside out day’ where the children can wear a piece of their uniform, for example their jumper, inside out.
This is to promote the idea that we should stop more and think about how others are feeling, too often sometimes do we say we are ‘ok’ when really we’re not and just being able to talk to someone, could make the world of difference.
